Introduction

SwiftVR is a cool flash panorama viewer designed using KoolMoves.  All the source is provided so that we can hopefully work to improve the viewer beyond its current capabilities. Here it is in action (this walkthrough is not geographically correct but the points are correctly positioned relative to one another):

General Info/Features

SwiftVR is quite capable out of the box.  In the past I had played around with other people's attempts at VR and they always cut out the hard bits... because they were hard.  I wanted more!

What I wanted was arbitrary hotspots to other panoramas (so you can "walk" through a scene), a compass, the ability to zoom in/out, a map, info markers that can can play video or audio, a selection of exit markers that point the way to new locations... I wanted it all.

So... I have implemented all those features into SwiftVR.  Here are the features in list form for easier reference:

• zoom in/out functionality (mousewheel supported)
• Head Up Display for direction info
• hotspots for loading new panorama viewpoints
• direction maintained correctly between viewpoint load-ups
• can dynamically communicate directly with an external map
• info markers for arbitrary audio/video playback
• 360 degree interactive panorama rotation
